Synthesis and biological activity of some new heterocyclic systems derived from 5-carboxyhydrazide-4, 5-dihydro-1- phenylpyrazolo[3,4-d] pyrimidin-4-one

Several new heterocyclic systems bearing a 4,5-dihydro-1-phenylpyrazolo[3,4-d] pyrimidin-4-one-5-yl moiety have been synthesized through acylation of 5-carboxyhydrazide-4,5-dihydro-1-phenylpyrazolo [3,4-d] pyrimidin- 4-one(II) followed by cyclization reactions. Structure of the products have been established by elemental analyses and spectral data(UV, lR, 1H NMR andmass). Some of themhave been screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activity.
