Photocatalytic Antibacterial Activity of ZnO / Hectorite and ZnO / Montmorillonite

Photocatalyst of Zn immobilized hectorite and Zn immobilized montmorillonite (Zn/HEC and Zn/MMT) from synthetic hectorite and natural montmorillonite has been prepared. The materials was evaluated as photocatalyst in a photocatalytic antibacteria of Eschericia coli and Staphylococcus aureus system. Result of the research showed the significant activity of material as photocatalyst and the higher activity of Zn/HEC compared to Zn/MMT was obtained.
