Biosynthesis and regulation of paclitaxel in Taxus

Tremendous progress has been made recently on improving Taxol biosynthesis, such as elicitation and precursor feeding. This article summarizes recent progress on the above area and provides a current overview of research on taxane production by biological method. In addition, the probability and foreground of regulation of taxus by genetic approaches are also discussed.
